A warm and sunny Christmas!

This Christmas, we were blessed to be able to go to Arizona to be with my family. It was so great to finally see my parents and to spend some time together. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Christmas Eve and Christmas day it was sunny and 70. We spent most of the day outside sitting in the sun in tank tops! The view out there never gets old. I have to be honest. It was a little weird being in Arizona for Christmas. There were very few houses with lights and except for the few Christmas trees you can see through the windows of the homes from the road, no one had any decorations outside. Except my mom!! It didn't really feel like Christmas but it was still amazing. We had a great Christmas with the family. Christmas morning, Brent and I got up and made monkey bread for breakfast. It was our first go at it and it turned out pretty good! Mom and dad got me a new camera for Christmas! I was so excited I couldn't stop taking pictures! I took over 300 on Christmas day and a total of 850 over 5 days!! Here are a few from Christmas day.

Grandma got some slippers in her stocking. Barkley decided he needed to sit with her!

Mom and dad went to the Buddy Holly museum in Lubbock TX and got Amy and I these glasses. We wore them most of the morning!

Brent and I got mom and dad a new duck for the pool!

Gifts from Amy & Adam

This is my favorite gift of all! The tie we gave Adam! We fully expect it to make an appearance at a basketball game!

Us and gram with her new coffee mug. It has pictures on it of her family. She told us that she won't use it when she gets home but will display it somewhere in her house!

All dad wanted was a Jamaal Charles jersey. Can you guess why??

Barkley wanted to try on the new glasses!

Brent and dad got new Chiefs apparel! I'm pretty sure this helped them get to the playoffs!!

Grandma got a new digital camera for Christmas. Until now, she has been using film! She cried when she opened it! She is still getting used to the fact that she doesn't have to look through the view finder but can look at the screen!

The family. We had a wonderful Christmas. We are all wearing or holding something we got for Christmas!

Adam loved the tie so much that he had to have his picture with us!

T.J and Kris hanging out in the pool!

Mom found a cat santa hat and put it on her roadrunner in the front yard!

And one on the cactus!

It's not the holiday season without a smoke alarm going off!!

I have been thinking for a while now that I have not been blogging. I didnt really have anything to blog about...until tonight. My sweet husband was cooking dinner tonight when he accidently set off the smoke alarm! We tried to get ahold of the right people to stop the fire truck from coming but as you can see, they arrived! We had a small cooking lesson and all was good. The firemen said that Brent should take me out to dinner. As it turned out, I remade dinner with no alarm! It made for an exciting Friday night.

The firemen walked outside while I was taking pictures of the truck and asked me if I wanted to get in and they would take my pictures. I declined feeling like a 5 year old boy

The organized chaos we like to call Thanksgiving!

This year, Brent;s parents and sister and her family, came to Olathe for Thanksgiving. We all got together at his sister Christy's house for the day. Things can get kinda of crazy when there are 15 people in the house and 6 kids running around. It;s always fun to be together. We played a few games, watched some football and ate a lot of food. Brent's sister Cherie and her family stayed out at the lake house with us so we got to spend a little extra time with them which is always nice.

no shave november=no kisses till december

November at MNU means several things. Basketball games have started, the trees have mostly changed, the weather gets cooler and all the guys on campus have facial hair to keep them warm. Yet again, it is No Shave November. Campus wide, the guys participate in a contest to see who can grow the best beard. For me, I get to experience Brent's amazingly sporadic facial hair or as we affectionately call it, his BTM (bad teenage mustache.) When I bully Brent, he gets back at me by rubbing or trying to rub his whiskers on my face. Needless to say, this is not my favorite month.
At the end of November, the participants will get together for a ugly sweater/No shave November party and will win prizes in categories such as best beard, nastiest beard, best mustache and most creative. We are just finishing out week 2 and are counting down the last 2 weeks. I will continue to update as the hair grows!
