Baby in Heaven

As I am sitting here writing this, my heart is broken. Yesterday I just wasn't feeling right so we decided to go to the doctor and just make sure everything was ok. We found out through a sonogram that our little baby no longer had a heartbeat. We also found out that lil baby was not growing. 2 weeks ago, baby measured at 7 1/2 weeks and yesterday baby measures at 7 weeks and 6 days and it should have measured at 9 weeks.

We are just so sad. It doesn't make sense how 2 weeks ago our little baby could have such a strong heartbeat and now there isn't one. I have so many questions and am so frustrated. Why us?? I can't help but question what I did through out the last 2 weeks but our doctor reassured me that it was nothing I did and there is nothing wrong with me or with Brent. Sometimes these things just happen and we don't know why. I think it's God's way of protecting me and our baby. God knew something was not right and decided to take the baby to heaven. I know that we will get through this. I know we will have tough days that in time will turn into tough moments as we are reminded of our loss, but God will get us through all of it. It doesn't make it hurt any less but I know that we will be stronger in our relationship with one another because of it. This was all apart of God's amazing plan for our lives and how can we argue with that? He knew what he was doing and He knows what he will do in the future. We just have to trust Him.

So as for now, this pregnancy journey ends but we hope that in the near future we will be able to share some more good news. Thank you for all your support and prayers.

Sutton Camille

On March 9th, The Drummond family (Brent's sister and her family) welcomed baby number 4! Sutton Camille entered the world at 3:55pm! We are so excited that she is finally here!! It was so sweet to see her big brother and sisters holding her and loving her! We went up to the hospital, with the rest of the family, to see her! She slept the whole time but it was still fun to see her and hold her.

A Saturday Project!

Lately I have been realizing that my jewelry is a little out of control on my dresser. My earrings are everywhere and they get tangled and its just a mess! I got a little box at a garage sale to help organize my jewelry but my earrings got lost in there with everything else so I had to come up with another plan.

So I got online the other day and googled earring displays and I found one that was really cute and easy. I decided it was going to be my Saturday project. I got a 8 x 10 frame from Wal-mart and some hanging wire, a total of $6. We borrowed a friends staple gun and I was ready to go. I did make the mistake of asking Brent if he knew how to use a staple gun! He was not happy!!

I started by taking off the back of the frame and removing the glass. Then I measured the wire the width of the frame and folded it over 3 times and twisted it then stapled it to the frame. I did this 4 times! It turned out great. The girl on the website painted her frame white but I just decided that if I wanted to decorate it, I could later. Im really happy with how it turned out. It was so easy and so cheap! Now my earrings have a home and my dresser looks a little better. Now I just have to figure out what to do with my watches!!

Here is the website if you are interested in making one! http://www.kevinandamanda.com/whatsnew/our-home/tutorial-shabby-chic-dangly-earring-display.html

Lil Myers

Several weeks ago I was not feeling so good for several days. I thought it was something I ate from campus center which is totally possible! Turns out....ITS A BABY! Brent and I went to the doctor on Valentines day to find out that for sure that I am pregnant! We were so excited. My sister was the first person I told. She was so excited, she just stood there with her mouth open (sorry Amy) staring! She wanted to take a picture on the day we found out. We have had so much fun telling our friends and family. Adam is so happy that he will finally have someone to play with!!

We went for our first OB appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat and saw little nugget (which we affectionately call the baby!) The heartbeat was strong and everything was good. Our due date is Oct 23. We are so excited for this new adventure and feel so blessed.

There is a baby in there!! This was taken the Friday before Valentines day, which is the day I took the home tests and when we told Amy!

I'm sorry about this! I have always thought pictures of these were kinda gross but I had to do it!!

Excited Daddy!

On Valentines day, we were going to eat and watch the KU/K-State game with my parents and Amy. We decided that was the perfect time to tell them. We went out and bought little KU booties to put in mugs that say Grandma and Grandpa. The mugs are the same mugs my parents gave my grandparents when they told them they were pregnant with me. It was fun to use! My parents were so excited! We also sent Brent's parents flowers the day with a note saying "Happy Valentine's Day. Love Brent, Laurie and Baby Myers!" They loved it!

The mugs and booties we used to break the news!

This is the first gift we received. Carol (Brents mom) found these so cute outfits for baby to wear on Halloween!!

Finally snow!!

One of the things I miss most about living in Iowa is the winters. I get so jealous when I see that Iowa is getting snow and a lot of it! Every time I comment on it, my friends from Osky say that I can have theirs and I would gladly take it! I miss getting 12 inches in several hours or the fact that it would snow all day long. I can remember one time it snowed like 16 inches in 4 hours. It was awesome! I think it makes everything look so pretty and I loved watching it fall in my backyard. It's the little things!

So I have been waiting all winter for some snow. Not a dusting but SNOW and we finally got it. We have about 5-6 inches on the ground. We love to throw Marley's ball and watch him find it in the snow. He burries it himself then he will push the snow around with his face to find it! It's cute to see him come up from the snow and his face is all white with snow!! I am thankful for the snow that we are having right now. I think it shows God's beauty and his Mighty Power.

Now I wish I didn't have to work so I can play in it!!

This is just the beginning!!

The real thing!! We don't have great views!!

More fun in the desert!

So we did do a few other things in AZ besides have Christmas! On Christmas night, Adam's parents flew in late. It was fun spending time with them. The guys played golf a few days and mom took us girls into Cave Creek to do a little shopping. We spent more time outside, took a small trip up the mountain, ate at one of the restaurant's at a course and got to see the Uphaus'! We are already planning our next trip!

Amazing gifts from God!

The sunsets in Arizona is not something to be missed. I try hard to not take 50 pictures each night but I can't help myself. Each time I see the sunset, I can't help but think about how amazing God is. He allows us to bask in his beauty each night and reminds us just how big and incredible He is.
