Good Times at the Lake

The Uphaus boys (Grant, Cole, and Reece) came for their annual lake house visit to Lake Winnebago. They flew back from Phoenix with Chuck and Kathy and are here for the whole week. It has been a lot of fun watching them jump off the dock hundreds of times a day and try their hand at wakeboarding. Reece loves tubing the most! Here are some pictures that show how much fun we have all had with them. They are some great dudes.

Grant learned to jump and dive off the top of the dock

I finally mustered up enough courage to backflip off the top of the dock...so Chuck and I jumped off together

Grant and Reece + jumping off the top of the dock like this = crazy

Seeing how far we can launch a racquet ball with the water loon balancher. (yes, i meant to do that)

Marley figured there was no way he would drown as long as he was resting his head on top of mine. He's not a big fan of the water, yet.

The boys, and a good lookin' dude in the background

I'm trying to get used to clearing the wake again.

The boys and I have gotten a lot of pool in. It gets pretty intense.

Cole loves to wakeboard and he has incredible balance

Grant and Reece love to tube together and challenge "Little Mary" to try to knock them off

Traveling

We arrived at the airport on Friday morning at 5:45 am to find that the plane we were supposed to fly out on had a crack in the windshield. We waited an hour to find out we were being moved to another airline and had to wait another 2 hours to fly out. The only good thing about it was that we had a direct flight instead of flying through Denver, and only arrived an hour late to KC. Needless to say, none of us were too happy about the change and the wait. Here are a few pictures to show our thoughts and feelings! Adam had a hard time but we tried to make the best of it!!

If you look closely, you can see all the people waiting in line behind us!

Our last day in Scottsdale!

Today is our last day in Scottsdale. We had an amazing time. I wish I could move my friends out here and bring Marley back and stay. It has been so relaxing and so beautiful. I thought I would post a few more random pictures from our trip. We cant wait to come back in December for Christmas!

The newest member of the family. Timmy the temp.

Brent and I made up this game that we played several days in a row. We would sit at each end of the pool and make a hoop with our arms. We would throw the ball from across the pool and try to make it in the hoop. I never won but tried really hard.

One night, Brent looked out the window of the kitchen and saw this! Adam named this buck Darrell. He is pretty much standing on the retaining wall of the backyard. He was just staring at us. It was the only wild life we saw the whole trip.

This poor bunny was stuck in the backyard. We tried so hard to help it out the back gate but he was so confused and just kept running into the bushes. He was so little and so scared!

Prime napping spot for dad!

Brent and Amy threw pennies and dimes for each other in the pool and then timed each other to see who could find them the fastest. I loved watching them swim around in their green goggles to find pennies!

A few pictures of a rain storm blowing in over the mountains behind the house. The smell of rain is so strong in the desert. You can often smell the rain before it starts actually raining.

I hate waking up early but this was worth it. We left the house at 5:00am to beat the crowd to the Grand Canyon. It is so incredible to see this unbelievable canyon.

On our way home, we stopped in Sedona. It is so beautiful here. All the red dirt and rocks. Its amazing to think about all the things God has done and can do. We didnt stay long, it had already been a long day by the time we got there.

This church was built in the side of the rock. It has incredible views of the city.

Its hard to not take a thousand pictures of the sunset every night. Its so incredible.

Last night we ate dinner at a place called Bad Donkey. It was a little family owned pizza place with a really fun atmosphere.

At Bad Donkey, they had a small ice cream place attached called Dinky Donkey!

These are the sizes of shakes you can get at DInky Donkey

We went to the highest point in Desert Mountain. This is the view.

Phoenix!

This is my first time blogging and I'm really excited to share our exciting lives with you all! Enjoy!!

We are currently at my parents house in Scottsdale AZ. Its so beautiful here. It took a while to get here. We had a 40 minute layover in Denver which turned into a 3 hour layover. It was boring. We did plenty of people watching. We finally arrived in Phoenix at 9:30pm. Sorta a bummer because flying into Phoenix is beautiful. We got to my parents house and were just in awe. The house is amazing. The most beautiful house I think I have ever seen. It is so open and the pool is beautiful and much needed since the high is over 100 daily! There are mountains everywhere and the sunsets are gorgeous. Pictures do not even do it justice.

Amy had a really exciting first night. The first night, Brent went downstairs to get a pillow from the extra bedroom. He thought it went into the closet and realized it was the bathroom that leads to the room Amy and Adam were sleeping in. The next morning, Amy came out and told us an amazing story of how she was convinced there was a robber in the house the night before. She saw the lights of the bathroom turn on and off again and heard the bathroom door close. That is when Brent piped up and told Amy it was him! The events that took place after Amy saw the lights and heard the door are unbelievable. We laughed so hard. It was a perfect start to the vacation!

We haven't done too much since we have been here. We have laid out every day and the boys have golfed once so far. We met up with some friends who happened to be in Scottsdale at the same time visiting their daughter and son in law. That was fun. Our friends Sarah and Brady have the same last name as we do. It is one of a list of things that the 4 of us have in common! We got a picture with them, making it a Myers family picture! Last night, the Uphaus's came over for dinner. It is always so much fun hanging out with them. It is always good to spend time with Dalene and catch up with her and the boys. Dalene brought Jocelyn along .It was great to see them together and to see Dalene happy. We had so much fun just talking and watching the boys swim and be obnoxious! So far, it has been a great relaxing trip.
